Shadowy Figures
Hunkering down and using the tent as a shield, Samantha cautiously peered out. The shifting shadows hinted at the presence of others, their outlines barely discernible. Every natural noise of the forest seemed magnified, adding to the tension of her clandestine observation.
Samantha’s heart raced in her chest as one of the figures crept closer to her makeshift hiding place among the foliage. She refrained from even breathing, desperately hoping the plants concealed her.
