Unwelcome Observers
Holding onto the wire cutters, Samantha emerged from the tent and scanned the fading surroundings, searching for any trace of the cub. The forest seemed to play tricks on her, shadows shifting and dancing at the periphery of her vision, until a glint of reflective eyes drew her gaze to the edge of the clearing.
The realization that she was under observation sent a shiver through Samantha. The presence of another, concealed within the dense foliage, silently tracking her every move, shattered the illusion of solitude in her quest. It became evident that this mission had observers beyond herself and the bear.
