Strange behaviour
The first sign that something was amiss came on the second day. Jessy was at work when she received an urgent call to come to the riding stables immediately. They wouldn’t tell her why. Anxiety surged through her as dread took hold. The uncertainty gnawed at her, leaving her to fear the worst. Had the horse been injured? Had something else happened? Her mind raced with countless possibilities.
The thought of her beloved horse being in danger was unbearable, filling her with a profound sense of helplessness. Jessy had grown deeply attached to the animal, and the idea of it being harmed was too distressing. She felt a mix of fear and confusion, not knowing what to expect. Desperate for answers yet dreading what she might hear, the anxiety of the unknown overwhelmed her.
When Jessy finally arrived at the stables, the reality became clear. This was the moment she should have realized something was wrong, but her naivety blinded her to the truth.
