The Saluki is a medium-sized dog that belongs to the sighthound group, originally bred by nomadic peoples for hunting by sight rather than scent. They love energetic games, especially those that allow them to sprint at top speed, though they rarely return the toy on their own. When raised with cats, Salukis can coexist peacefully, but unfamiliar cats may trigger their hunting instincts. This breed can be independent and sometimes ignores commands, and they have a tendency to dig. Despite these traits, Salukis are generally gentle, calm, and affectionate, making them good companions for families with children.
