The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, also called the Korthals Griffon, was specifically bred as a hunting companion. Highly intelligent and driven by instinct, this breed excels in field work. While generally friendly with their family, Griffons tend to be wary of strangers, making them excellent protectors of both home and loved ones.

These dogs require a significant amount of daily activity—usually one to two hours—so they are best suited for active households. They also need plenty of space, which makes apartment living unsuitable. Training should begin early, even when the puppy is as young as eight weeks, as they are eager learners capable of absorbing commands and skills from the very start.
