FROZEN IN FEAR
Peeking over the car, Steven suddenly froze in fear. One of Jake’s dogs was staring right at him, and for a brief second, they made direct eye contact.
Steven slowly sank back down, hiding behind the car once more. “What have I gotten myself into?” he wondered. When he finally mustered the courage to look over the car again, he saw that Jake had already resumed walking.
