Deep Purple

Being known as the โworldโs loudest bandโ may not be the compliment it first appears to be. In 1975, the Guinness Book of World Records awarded Deep Purple that title, adding even more attention to an already successful group.
However, the bandโs reputation for sheer volume often overshadowed its actual music. Even a classic song like โSmoke on the Waterโ became associated more with its loud, instantly recognizable riff than with genuine musical depth.
