Richard Gere and his son Homer Gere at age 22
Occasionally, we are struck by the resemblance between a celebrity’s child and their famous parents – it’s as though we’re looking at a younger version of the parent. Renowned actor Richard Gere, now a father of three, had his second child when he was 70 and his third in 2020. Nonetheless, the 73-year-old also has a 23-year-old son named Homer James Jigme Gere. Homer, who prefers a life away from the limelight, was born to Gere and his second wife, Carey Lowell, 62. The couple had an 18-year-long relationship, during which they were married for 14 years, before they separated. Their son Homer has matured into a striking image of his handsome father, who won hearts with his performances in films like Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, among others. Gere, previously wed to Cindy Crawford without having children, eagerly embraced the fatherhood journey with Lowell. They chose to name their son after their respective fathers and also gave him the Tibetan name Jigme, reflecting Gere’s dedication to Buddhism and the Free Tibet Movement.
